I painted this piece when a dear friend came to visit me in my new home country after we had been apart for more than a year. “Free Fall” is an homage to deep care and friendship: when seeing someone again feels like coming home to part of yourself. The exhale, the complete relaxation of seeing a person who truly sees you. A free fall into a safe place. A celebration of the love we can have for one another, for support systems that span oceans and ages, change and time.
